About Me
How counselling works
There are many schools of therapeutic thought. I have an advanced diploma in Integrative counselling, this means I use a set of cohesive theories from multiple schools of thought. |
We work together, using the relationship between counsellor and client as the platform for insight and healing. |
This integral approach allows us to work with all aspects of who you are. It acknowledges the importance of you as a person, the relationship we create together and the context in which we meet. |
Healing can take place at either the cognitive level (Mind), emotional level (Body), or the transpersonal level (Spirit). |
Is it right for me?
Counselling, also known as the talking cure, has been shown to be effective for a variety of issues such as depression, bereavement, stress, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, addiction and relationship problems. |
Therapy can help address your symptoms and also work on the underlying causes, helping to improve your life and situation. |
If you are unsure if counselling is right for you the BACP website contains a wealth of information. Alternatively, please feel free to call me and we can talk through your needs. |
